Process to Access Technical Assistance:
2. GSC reviews applications quarterly and selects TA recipients based on these criteria
- Geographic diversity. We strive for projects in Eastern Washington and Western Washington, in the mountains, near the ocean, and throughout the vast desert & farm lands of the State.
- Sponsor capacity. Significant organizational development is beyond the scope of this program. We are looking for sponsors with strong enough financials, Boards of Directors, and track records to develop housing projects. But sponsors that have successfully completed similar projects in the recent past, without TA, will also be rejected. We seek to build new capacity and help create housing which would otherwise not get developed.
- Need. We will prioritize Counties that have had low State housing investment in the past, and high unmet housing needs.
- Local government support. Projects with local government support in the form of surplus land, zoning concessions, and/or funding commitments will be prioritized.
- Sponsor matching funds.
